I'm a Frenchman based in England, and I've spent the last 13 years doing one thing: giving men genuinely honest advice about the products they put on their face, in their ears, and on their bodies.
I founded Dapper & Groomed in 2013 with a straightforward purpose: to share the kind of honest, experience-based advice I wished I had when I started my own grooming journey in the late 1990s.
Dapper & Groomed is now an independent review platform for men who are done being sold to. Particularly men over 35, who have figured out that marketing is not the same as results.
Why My Opinion Is Worth Your Time
What makes my perspective different is simple: I have a genuine professional background in three of the areas I cover.
Healthcare & Pharmacy Before becoming a full-time reviewer, I worked as a Healthcare Assistant in pharmacy. That background changed how I read a product label permanently. When I evaluate a moisturiser, an acne treatment, or a chemical depilatory, I'm not going by how it smells or how nice the packaging is. I'm looking at the active ingredients, how they interact with the skin barrier, and whether the claims on the box are supported by what's actually inside it. In a market full of "miracle" products, that matters.
20 Years in Professional Audio Before the blog, I spent two decades working on the equipment and product side of the entertainment industry. That experience is directly behind every headphone, earphone, and speaker review I publish. I test frequency response, driver performance, and real-world audio fidelity the way an engineer would — not the way a lifestyle blogger would. When I tell you a pair of earbuds sounds exceptional, or that a £300 speaker isn't worth the price, that verdict comes from trained ears and professional standards.
25 Years of Personal Grooming Experience I started seriously refining my grooming and skincare routine in the late 1990s. Since launching Dapper & Groomed in 2013, I have personally tested over 1,000 products — grooming tools, skincare, fragrances, tech, and apparel. Not sampled. Not gifted and forgotten. Actually used, lived with, and honestly assessed.
My Rules — Non-Negotiable
First-hand use only. If it's featured on this site, I have personally used it. No exceptions, no ghost reviews, no AI-generated opinions.
No marketing hype. I write for men who want the downsides as much as the upsides. A review without honest criticism isn't a review — it's an advert.
Age-relevant advice. My focus is on men over 30, because that's when skin changes, hair thins, and the "just wash your face" advice stops being enough. I cover what actually works at that stage of life.
Full transparency. Where products have been gifted or provided for review, this is disclosed clearly. My opinion is never for sale.
