Hiut Denim: Denim made in Wales
Hiut Denim Co: Do one thing well
Cardigan is a small town (4000 people) located on the west coast of Wales. Cardigan had a denim factory that used to produce up to 35,000 pairs of jeans a week. In 2002 the factory closed its gates to move to Morocco. Unfortunately this is a story that is common in a lot of places all over the country. But the difference here is that this story has an happy ending.
In 2011 David and Clare Hieatt (who sold their brand Howies to Timberland in 2006) decided to invest in the factory. Hiut Denim was born. The brand produces top of the range denim from £130 to £260 for men and women.
Proudly made in Wales, you can buy two types of denim: Organic and Selvedge.
- The Organic range is made of a beautiful unwashed 12oz denim from a great mill in Turkey. The Selvedge range is made of a denim from Kuroki the artisanal Japanese denim mill.
- Hiut Denim has plenty of stylish designs from Slim Fit to Regular Fit. The quality of each denim is amazing and the attention to detail is second to none: for example, the coin pocket is designed to fit an iPhone 5.
If wearing high quality denim jeans is a way of life for you, you should visit http://hiutdenim.co.uk/ (they deliver everywhere in the world).
