If there’s one brand that knows how to deliver on sound quality, it’s Edifier. I’ve always admired their thoughtful approach to design and their commitment to a warm, rich sound profile that just feels right. So, when I got my hands on the new Edifier W260NC earbuds, I was more than a little excited to dive in. After spending some time with them, I have to say, they may just be my new favorites—even edging out the Neobuds Pro 2! Here’s why the W260NC deserves a spot on your radar.

Unboxing Experience

Edifier never disappoints with its unboxing experience; they really pay attention to detail. Inside the box, you’ll find everything you need, from a USB-C charging cable for the case to extra eartips, in case the standard ones don’t quite fit. Plus, there are helpful leaflets explaining how to connect and use the earbuds.

Design and Aesthetics

For the W260NC, Edifier seems to have taken a different design route, with clear inspiration from the AirPods Pro—something I actually like. The case has a faux leather feel that’s both stylish and comfortable to hold, with a smaller Edifier logo that blends seamlessly into the case. It’s a minor change, but it makes the case look more premium. I have the Dark Blue version, and they’re undeniably sleek. While the earbuds themselves resemble the AirPods Pro, Edifier has added their own textured material, giving them a distinct look. Overall, I prefer this design to the more futuristic look of the Neobuds Pro 2.

Setup and Specs

Setting up the W260NC is a breeze on both iPhone and Android. The Bluetooth 5.3 connection is rock solid, allowing connection to two devices simultaneously. To get the most out of these earbuds, I recommend downloading the new Edifier Connex app, though it’s worth noting this app is different from the Edifier app used for older devices—a bit confusing if you’ve used Edifier products before.

Spec-wise, the Edifier W260NC has it all: Active Noise Cancellation, 32-hour battery life, Hi-Res Wireless Audio with LDAC support, a low-latency mode, and fast charging (a 15-minute charge gives you an extra two hours of playback). They’re also IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance, so they’re built to last. On paper, the W260NC really stands out!

Sound Quality and Daily Use

Edifier’s motto is “passion for sound,” and it shows—I'm a big fan of how they tune their products. The W260NC is no exception; they sound incredible. The Active Noise Cancellation is effective, especially for earbuds, and the transparency mode works well, letting you stay aware of your surroundings. Edifier’s signature warm, rich sound shines through, and if you’re on Android and have a streaming service that supports Hi-Res Audio, the LDAC codec enables an impressive 24-bit/96kHz audio experience with lossless sound quality.

The mic quality is solid, too. Every call I’ve made with the W260NC has been clear on both ends. The Edifier Connex app even lets you customize the equalizer, which is a great bonus. If you’re on iPhone, don’t worry; the Edifier W260NC is compatible with the AAC codec, which is a step above MP3. You’ll still get fantastic sound quality on Apple Music. Spotify users—whether on iPhone or Android—will experience similar sound quality since it’s not yet Hi-Res. (Spotify, we’re still waiting for that promised Premium Hi-Res service!)

Conclusion

Once again, Edifier delivers. I loved the Neobuds Pro 2 for their outstanding sound quality, but the look and feel of the W260NC make them an instant favorite as well. If sound quality is a top priority for you, Edifier’s warm, rich sound profile won’t disappoint, and the W260NC is no exception. Priced around £79 (and sometimes lower), they’re a steal for what you get.
